Ministry of Commerce and Pattaya Police seize counterfeit goods

PATTAYA:--The Thai Ministry of Commerce, in conjunction with Pattaya Police conducting raids on two venues on Wednesday night, suspected of selling counterfeit branded items.

The Ministry are also making a concerted effort at this time to shut down facilities which are either producing or importing the illegal items which are intended to be sold mostly to foreign tourists. Two locations were raided on Wednesday, the Royal Garden Plaza in South Pattaya and the Pattaya Bazaar located at the Dolphin Roundabout in North Pattaya.

During the operation, officers concentrated on seizing counterfeit branded wrist watches and managed to collect hundreds of thousands of Baht’s worth of watches, some of which were put on display at Pattaya Police Station. Arrests were also made with the promise of criminal charges to be brought against those caught.
