Any recommendations for where to buy a non-leather motorcycle jacket w/ armor? I'm in Chiang Mai but I'll be in BKK next month so I could look around there too. Or should I just wait until I go back to the states for a visit in April? Thanks.

Try Fast Corner at the Pantip Plaza on Chang Khlan Road. They have a good selection of just what you are looking for. Good selection of gloves too.

I have seen some good ones on the ground floor of MBK in Bangkok but I'm not sure they have the plates inside.

Paddock is great even if you're not living in Bangkok. Before Fast Corner opened I bought three riding jackets from them. They sent them to Chiang Mai via Siam Express. One was too small and I sent it back whereby they sent a larger one without additional charge. I ordered a helmet from them as well and they had to special order it from Japan. Big head I guess. Anyway, they forwarded it to me as soon as it arrived. Good service.
