Anyone know where to buy a neti pot in chiang mai?

I got the closest I could find to an official one by going to the big ceramics shop on Hang Dong across from the airport runways. Go find all their teapots on the shelves there, and look for one with a longer spout and a bore the right size to fit up your schnoz. I paid about 30 B for mine. Works just fine.

Back in Geordie land, someone asking for a netti pot would cause endless amusement.

About the easiest alternative is a plastic tomato ketchup bottle (refillable type - not used of course!)

If you know someone coming from UK you could ask them to bring a bottle that comes from Sinu Rinse (sp?) kit.

They were recommending that people refrain from using net pots after 2 recent deaths and multiple infections caused by neti pot use.. Maybe if you google neti pots you may find some information on this.

cmsally is correct. They died of amebiasis. You have to boil the water before using it.

Medical supplies shops on Suthep Rd may have... south side opposite Suan Dok hospital and another near the Nimmenhaemen T junction. I don't know the name of either and they'd be easy to miss if driving....

There's a store on the Mae Jo road immediately north of Rimping and Ruam Chok Market called Only Natural that carries two kinds, a ceramic one and a smaller plastic one for travelling. I bought the plastic one and even use it at home. I fill it once for each nostril. Works great.
