The wife is getting somebody to help her complete her VAF4A for her and her son. I sent her completed forms for her and her son, she just needs to do the on line application. I have also sent her my appendix 2. The friend keeps telling her she needs appendix 2 for her son but I can't convince her that she only needs one appendix 2 as it is information about me.

What is the best approach to convince a stubborn Thai. May be I should just copy the appendix 2 that I already sent and send it again.

I think you wife is right. Every applicant needs to complete an application form, and every application form must have an appendix. Logically, the child needs an Appendix 2.

On the Appendix there is a box to tick to show what the applicant is applying as. It includes this box :

As the child of a parent who is applying for entry clearance

as a partner or the child who is applying to join their parent

who is already in the UK and has been granted limited leave

as partner granted under the Immigration Rules in force on

09 July 2012.

That option in not on my appendix 2. It says:

On waht basis are you going to the UK

1 As the spouse or civil partner of someone settled in the uk

2 As the adopted child of someone settled or going to settle in the UK

3 As the fiance or propoese civil partner of someone settled in the UK

4 As the unmarried or same sex partner or someone settled in the UK

5 As the child of settled parents or with one parent who has limited leave as as a partner or parent under the rules in force before 9 July 2012

6 As the post flight family member (spiuse or civil partner unmarried or same sex partner or child) of someone with limited leave to enter the UK as a refugee or beneficary of humanitarian protection.

None of those apply to the dependent child of my wife who is applying for settlement.

The option that you specify is not on Appendix 2 (VAF4A July 2012)

You are using the outdated Appendix 2. It had many mistakes on it, and it was re-issued in August . Download the new version.
