Tyre Explosion at Ang Thong Repair Shop Leaves Worker Injured
Yes, in Prachinburi. Happens here alot as these small tyre repair shops never seem to have a proper cage surrounding the tyre when it's being inflated. -

Agent for annual retirement extension?
I’m feeling lazy this year and thinking of sending an agent to get my annual retirement extension from Soi 5. Only that service, I have the money in the bank so there’s no need for the dodgy agent-loan facility they offer. The last time I did this it cost 8,000 Baht, including the 1,900 Baht Immigration fee. So far, I’ve asked for a price from two agents (Karen and Always Pattaya) and the quotes have been for 12,000 Baht. I told them that it’s just the paperwork I want sorted, no loans or anything else, which I recall used to cost quite a bit extra, but they say that 12K Baht is the going rate now. Did the IO’s in Soi 5 increase their fees by 50%? The agent I last used has disappeared so I don’t have that option anymore. Has anyone found an agent lately who’s still willing to do the annual retirement extension for 8,000 Baht or thereabouts, or are those days long gone now? -

Thai Singer Died from Blood and Fungal Infections, Not from Neck Massage
Was obvious to me the blood infection was unrealated to the massages. Unfortunately she waited too long to get medical help and died nearly 2 months after begining to feel unwell. As per usual, the family were hoping for a handout. RIP young lady. -

Massage Parlour Visits Turn Fatal: Singaporean Tourist and Thai Singer Die
Never knew Thai massage could be used as a form of execution or assisted suicide. I don't suppose Mr Tuck or Ms Chanida did either. -

EV Owners Frustrated as Samui Ferries Restrict EV Transport Over New Year Period
Hence, they could never deal with an EV fire, buckets of water will not cut it...................🤗 Neither will buckets of water and hose 'cut it' for a petrol or LPG fire, particularly when cars are packed in so tightly. Any fire, no matter the vehicle would be devastating without enclosed bays that have heat-sensors, deluge systems and can be flooded with foam and CO2 - which is rather impractical for any ferry company. Thus: the statistical likelihood of a fire takes greater precedence... and when a hybrid car is 140x more likely to catch fire than an EV (data links provided in an earlier comment) why not ban hybrids ??? when an ICE is 20 to 60x more likely to catch fire - perhaps an EV should be the favoured vehicle instead ?... If we're going to approach such subjects with intelligence, lets also use intelligent balance. The reality is that any fire at all, no matter the type of power used is so very rare its not a major concern. The reality also is that batteries are getting safer and safer. Another reality is - any vessel should have life boats and life rafts and any fire in a tightly pocked cargo bay should be handed with one set of responses: - Vessel Fire Team dispatched. - All Passengers mustering to lifeboats ready for evacuation - Evacuation the moment it is suspected the fire cannot be controlled It doesn't matter what source the fire is then - with cars so highly packed and such a high density of high energy fuel, any fire in the cargo bay (parking bay) can turn to catastrophic in a very short time frame. IF there is an ICE Fire / LPG fire on a ship - all passengers should be mustering and prepare for abandonment immediately. An EV doesn't change that. -

Taxation Registration
It puzzles me because on a different matter getting my marriage (in Canada) to my Thai wife registered in Thailand, i had to: (a) have our Canadian marriage certificate officially translated and certified at the Canadian Embassy in Bangkok (possibly not in that order), and (b) have my Canadian passport (!) officially translated to Thai (c) the above documents taken to a the Ministery of Foreign Affair (MOFA) in Bangkok for their certification of the copies. (d) and other some local detail - not relevant to this thread. The point I want to make, is a Canadian document had to be certified by a Canadian government organization (in this case the Canadian Embassy in Bangkok). I don't understand how the Thai Embassy in London would be qualified to certify a British document. it make more sense to me that a British organization would have to certify such. But I fully concede - i don't know what goes on between Thailand and Britain, and those who have done this before are the best one's to answer. Best wishes in your efforts. .
