Murder of bailed drug dealing suspect in Jomtien

PATTAYA:--A suspected drug dealer, currently on bail awaiting trial, was shot dead in front of his Mothers home in Jomtien on Saturday Morning and the suspected shooter is thought to live only a few meters from where the shooting took place.

Just after 10.30 on Saturday Morning, Police Colonel Tamanoon, the Pattaya Police Chief, was one of a number of senior officers who responded to reports of the shooting inside Soi 5 off the Thepprasit Road in Jomtien. In front of house number 192 was the body of Khun Somyot aged 39. His shocked wife, Khun Supannee aged 37 was also there and witnessed the shooting. She revealed how the pair had travelled to the area to visit their four children who live with Khun Somyot’s Mother.

As they arrived at the house, a neighbour, known only as Khun Nut aged around 30 to 35, approached and shot at Khun Somyot three times, once in the back of his neck, once in his arm and the third shot penetrated his rib cage from behind. Khun Nut left on his motorbike following the shooting. Police currently have two possible motives for the deadly shooting: Khun Nut was also arrested on drugs charges and it is thought that Khun Nut believed that the deceased man provided Police with information about his alleged illegal activities which led to his arrest.

Well khun nut is in a whole league of new trouble now

It is unfortunate that there are so many shootings in Pattaya, but in this and most cases it relates to those in the illegal narcotics industry.

As to the aptly named Khun Nut I would say his future looks bleak and short unless the BiB get to him first.

UPDATE

Jomtien Murder suspect gives himself up to Police

PATTAYA:--The suspect wanted in connection with the murder of a bailed drug suspect over the weekend in Jomtien, has now given himself up to Police. On Sunday afternoon Pattaya Police confirmed they had formally arrested Khun Nut aged 34, whose real name is Khun Sa-hus who had confessed to the murder of Khun Somyot aged 39 outside of his Mother’s house in Jomtien on Saturday morning.

A reconstruction of the murder was held on Sunday afternoon under the watchful eye of the Provincial Police Commander Police Major General Katcha. The suspect was wearing a bullet proof jacket and extra Police Officers were drafted in, as members of the victim’s family had promised retribution as soon as they saw the suspect. Khun Sa-hus confirmed he fled the scene following the shooting and hid his 38 Caliber firearm in bushes close to Makro Supermarket in Jomtien but he soon decided that because he was well known to Police and others as a prolific drug dealer in the area, the chances of him eluding capture were slim.
