Hey fellow friends,

I found this website very useful, and it answered a lot of my questinos. But. There is a small thing that got me confused, I'm a Lebanese Citizen, 23 Years old. who currently resides in Lebanon, Regardless of that.... I'm a university Student, and one of the Visa's Requiremnts are a Bank statement. I don't have a bank account, what should I do?

Plus I have a Canadian Permanent Residence, does that allow me to go without a Visa? If not please answer my question above.

You would have to ask the Consulate you are trying to obtain the visa from. What they require is up to them. As for having PR that has no effect on travel as you do not have that passport (although it might help you obtain a visa in Canada).

How about opening a bank account?

Haha I like your reply, & I think I'm smart enough to have thought about that, but some travel agencies around told me that it wont work, cause the Consulate will see that the account is a new account, and its just been opened to get a visa.

Don't get advice from travel agencies. Talk to the Consulate and find out the facts. If your financial situation is suitable for the granting of a Tourist Visa then there should be a suitable way of proving it to them.

whistling.gif Whether that is acceptable to the Thai consulate you're going through is up to the consulate to decide.

What the purpose of that requirement usually really means is to let them feel confident you have the money to return, so you won't be stuck in Thailand without funds.

They MAY accept a pre-paid return ticket as proof.

But whether they do accept that or not is at the discretion of that particular Thai consulate.

All you can do is ask them what would be acceptable.

You should contact the Honorary Thai consulate in Beirut for info on getting your visa.
