Bringing 24-Inch Lcd Tv From Bangkok To Hanoi By Plane ?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Is it safe to bring 24-inch LCD TV from Bangkok to Hanoi by ( Airasia or other others ) plane as a check-i baggage ?

I am afraid that this TV will be broken. I want to bring it because in Hanoi I will have to rent it ( from landlord ) or to buy another TV ( if I sell it here )

How much is roughly the check in baggage fee for this around 5 kilograms TV ?

Thanks

The fee would not be much, check Air Asia website.

If properly packed in original carton, it should arrive safely. These TVs are quite robust.

I see loads of Indians with 32 in LCD TVs on trolleys at Suvarnabhumi. I presume they are taking these back to India so i guess they all arrive safely.

Likewise I saw a load of Indians in Singapore with trolleys loaded with big TV's, all the TV's were in the original packaging, so I suspect they travel well.

If they can withstand Fedex and UPS they can withstand anything, LOL.

You should transport the TV in it's original box but this can be further strengthened without adding much weight by inserting two pieces of PP board (corrugated plastic sheet sometime called 'Future board') in either side and wrapping the outside with bubble wrap. You can buy the board and wrap at Makro or some supermarkets.

I always travel with my 24 or 26 LCD monitor in check in luggage. Many my friends do the same. Wrap some towels, tshitrs and will be ok. Tested on 50+ flights.

is it worth it , what will you do if it gets damaged? buy another in your country ?
