Applying For A Visa Extension Out Of Your Province

Featured Replies

In past years ive been renewing my visa extension ( married to a Thai ) with out a problem. Now I'm in the financial position to apply for an extension based on retirement , my problem is that I will be away from my home ( and out of the province ) for several months around the time my current visa extension ends . Does any one know if its possible to apply for a retirement visa extension in a province other than the one where you live .

Thanks wai2.gif

Not only are you required to extend non immigrant visas at your province immigration a change from marriage may also require your wife to be present the first time (to confirm her understanding of the change). If this were a first extension and you had a local address it might fly but with a history expect it will not.

I Live in Chonburi and have to renew my annual retirement extension soon , but I will not be at home when its due , can I apply for the new extension while I am staying in Chiang Mai ? Thanks for any advice.

You can apply up to 60 days early at Jomtien and 30 days early at most locations if that can help you.

Yearly extension must be applied for in your your home province.

For marriage extension they can come and talk to your neighbors.

Hard to do that when you live in other province.
