When the arrests a made known, everyone seems to be a dealer. The terms mules, users, addicts, etc and their arrest, seem to be result of all of the BIB's effort.

The reported gazillions of baht worth of drugs being intercepted, have an orgin, someone behind it, as does the transport , and distribution system. RThere are huge sums of money being moved in this circle as well as the other illegal enterprises. You have to look before you can find the sources/kingpins.

10000 pills is nothing.

But some will be coming down pretty hard this week ,

untill they find the next pusher ,

who ratted on his compatition and gets to step up this week and make a killing ,

untill the next ridden with envy rat's him out and steps up ...on and on and on .

And over the years not one big wig .

Sad and sus.

Yeah.

Let's see a real Mr. Big nabbed and really punished. Until then, coffee1.gifand whistling.gif and rolleyes.gif.

Mr big is already locked up and running things from jail - the authorities inability to to deal with it is the real issue, it's seems the best and safest place to run the drug gangs from is in a Thai Jail - how <<Snip!>> up is that

Thai government should legalize marihuana, after all even Lord Buddha cosumed cannabis wai2.gif

As I have stated before the government should legalize yaba, as it was sold in stores up until about 20 years ago, Horse Brand with a picture of a horse. Just as now they are making Thai viagara, due to competition from counterfeits from Cambodia, India and Thailand.. Ya Ba is socially acceptable in this country marijuana and heroin are not.

Actually the head line should read police create more job openings.

Of course by the time the article got to the presses the positions were filled.

I believe in freedom of speech to a point. What the Government should do to improve their image is stop publicizing every satong anny druggies arrest and concentrate on the manufacturers and the people who control the manufacture and distribution. The average Thai and expat has no idea of the size of the problem. They think these little two bit busts are making a difference when in reality they are just creating job opportunities and if they are not filled quickly prices go up and crime to get the money to pay for them goes up.

Yaba, Heroine anc Cannabis shall not be in the same group...... Why not legalise all drugs and let some people make some mistakes legally and taxed?

Why not legalise all drugs and let some people make some mistakes legally and taxed?

Because in the case of yaabaa and yaa ice those 'mistakes' are often violent and dangerous to others.

The culture of taking yaabaa to keep oneself awake at the wheel of a motor vehicle is gradually being eradicated.

The last thing Thailand needs is for some people to think it is somewhat acceptable to consume this dangerous drug again.

And your source that taking yaba to stay awake at the wheel is some what disappearing is what?

Before people post they might want to take a look at Portigual's approach to the drug situation. Al though they still have a problem the cost of policing crimes committed to procure drugs is decreased as well as the use of drugs.

Have a look at it. It is by no means the accepted practice in the rest of the worls but it is one that is showing positive results.

That, I didn't know.

Me neither..... Would like the fact if link provided......

The fifth precept is not to consume alcohol or drugs.

I would believe that at the time of the Lord B, cannabis was not categorize as a drug..... Barely a plant to chew on, relieving pain, headaches.....

This is SOP in Thailand simply to kull the competition so that big business can run unterupted as usual. Anyone who thinks that the current arrests are in the public intrest or in the intrest of overal drug suppresion is living in a world of their own.

The drug trade is far too lucrative to be abolished so it is naturaly in the hands of those who can effect control and from time to time they serve up the minnows to influence this control and dupe the public

Before becoming the Buddha, Lord Buddha was a Sadhu, and for Sadhus, cannabis is a sacrament.

I also believe that cannabis should not be in the same group, cannabis is not addictive(only a very small number of people develope an addiction to it) is not so harmful to your body as alcohol, tabacco and all the others drugs that beside destroying your body do give you an addiction, cannabis doesn't make people become agressive, and many other good singswai2.gif

In Buddhism, the Fifth Precept is to "abstain from wines, liquors and intoxicants that cause heedlessness." Cannabis and some other psychoactive plants are specifically prescribed in the Mahākāla Tantra for medicinal purposes. However, Tantra is an esoteric teaching of Hinduism and Buddhism not generally accepted by most other forms of these religions.

eh?

that's a smart way of keeping your customer numbers up...

i think it was meant as when they didn't have the money.

anyway... another great victory in the war on drugs. rolleyes.gif
