Skywalker69
I love the way the police say - if things get out of hand they will notify the army. What? The police are yet again unwilling to do their jobs? They are to busy collecting tea-money.
MAJIC
I think that the Pheu Thai and The Red Shirts can only gain true credibility if they can really get rid of the ammart groups and also the thai chinese hisos that the Democrats have been supporting. It is interesting that the forum red cheerleaders are ready to play the race card and play their politics to the extreme right. And still think they stand on the left. The oddest thing though is that when one points out that Thaksin and his family also come from Thai Chinese stock, they go all silent. And then seemingly blank it from their minds in order to repeat the anti-Chinese slurs a few months later. As will happen right now. They would rather argue amongst themselves than face up to the fact, that Thais only think they are running their Country.
webfact
Pitak Siam group to stage anti-government mass rally on Sunday BANGKOK, Oct 24 -- Pitak Siam or Protecting Siam, led by retired Gen Boonlert Kaewprasit, will organise an anti-government mass rally at the Royal Turf Club in Bangkok’s Nang Lerng on Sunday. Gen Boonlert, chairman of Pitak Siam group, said that the rally would welcome all parties, be they yellow or red shirts. The rally would be a gathering of patriots and people loyal to the monarchy without backing from any political party. The retired army general said the government has failed in governing the country with corruption rampant in various projects. He would unveil evidence supporting his claim. If the government is allowed to continue, it could inflict further damage on the country, he said. Gen Boonlert, a classmate of former prime minister Gen Surayud Chulanont at the Armed Forces Academies Preparatory School (AFAPS), admitted that a coup was discussed among his group as many sections could not tolerate how the government is running the country. Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yubamrung said that he would meet Gen Boonlert today for a private talk but would not discuss politics. Pol Capt Chalerm said that he believed the upcoming Sunday rally would be peaceful and he has ordered police to facilitate the gathering. Pheu Thai list-MP and red-shirt co-leader Korkaew Pikulthong claimed that red shirt supporters in the North and Northeast were lured by groups of people to join the upcoming rally in exchange for Bt300-500 in cash. He urged supporters of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD), or red shirts, to refrain from joining the rally. Sounds like a typical Red Shirt Protest then... he starts crying when someone lures away his supporters with the same tactic they have used in the past - LOL

Don't forget that it was the PAD fascists that played the race card first with their negative rhetoric at their rallies about Thais with different ethnicities, alongside their ubiquitous "Sons of China" placards. Personally I think it's quite reasonable to point out that the urban middle class in this country, the bedrock of the opposition's support, is mainly Sino-Thai.Thailand has generally absorbed Chinese immigration well and has far fewer problems in this area than neighbouring countries. But still triumphalism needs to be avoided. Your comment on Thaksin is just lame.

(MCOT online news) Red-shirt supporters lured with money, but UDD supporters urged to refrain? Principled democracy lovers lured by money? Unbelievable! BTW did k. Korkaew speak as Pheu Thai party list MP or as red-shirt co-leader ? Furthermore can we really switch from red-shirts to UDD and back just like that ? PS the topic on snipers has k. Korkaew as 'former' red-shirt leader. What's up Doc?
