October 25, 201213 yr Hello, I had done my retirement visa in Chachoengsao, I do live in BKK now. I went to Chaengwattana today to apply for a residency letter (needed to issue a Thai driving license), and they have refused to accept me. I was told to apply at the immigration office where I got my visa. Is that for real???? Now I will have to go to that office anytime I will need something? What about the 90 days report? I offered to show them my lease contract, bills.... but no use.... Any advise?? Thanks in advance!
October 25, 201213 yr Maybe they were just enforcing the law, saying you must report to your new immigrationoffice within 24 hours of changing adress. So first things first, tell them (form??) that you are now living within their jurisdiction and then ask for the residency-letter!
October 25, 201213 yr Has anyone reported your prescience as required on a TM.30 report to immigration yet? I suspect not and without a record of you living in Bangkok they can not issue such documents. Now if you just go to Chiang Watanna with proof of new address when your 90 day report is due suspect they will accept it and later could issue a letter. But for now either use the office you are registered with or an alternate source (such as your Embassy).
October 25, 201213 yr Author Wow, thanks for the promprt replies guys!!! Actually, I came back to Thailand few days ago, so my 90 days report (which will be my second, the first was done at Chachoengsao) will due in long time. For your best knowledge, is there something I need, can do now? Like, make a 90 days report, with proof of living in Bangkok, right now? Any other formallities I must do? I appreciate your replies... It's no longer important for my driving license, as I will ask my embassy to issue me a letter. It's just that I want to be okay with regulations....
