Double Entry Visa Dates

My double entry tourist visa (from vientiane) , date of issue 9 august, is stamped enter before 8 November.

I got an extension at Immigration office until 8 nov.

Does this mean that I have to leave thailand and return by 8 November in order to use the 2nd entry visa?

Or that I can stay in thailand until 8 november, and can return to thailand anytime and still use the 2nd entry visa?

Yes you must activate the second entry before the 8th of November.

If not the second entry will be unusable,as the visa has/will expire on this date.
