No duds there at all. I forgot about 'Rita, Sue and Bob Too'. I can watch that movie over and over. Wasn't 'A Fist Full of Travellers Cheques' a comic strip movie? Blade Runner is a fantastic movie. Good choice.
bkkmadness
Rita, Sue and Bob too is a great film, not watched in years though. Ah, and who said Betty Blue, I've watched that countless times, it's just an all time classic and Beatrice Dalle in her day was just stunning. Have you seen 'Clubbed to Death'? That's another top French film that she has a part in as the 'club queen'. Often I've needed to put on Betty Blue to get that buzz which only certain movies can give you, and being a 3 hour movie not always sat through it, but the scene that always has to be watched is when she burns his bungalow down, Jean Hughes Anglade just standing there shocked coz he knows he's in too deep already, and then the music starts.......aahhh.................great cinema. I suppose another one which I watched a lot in the last couple of years, particulary if drunk or homesick is 'Wonderland', an underated English film which you can find out here for 99 baht on original. I stopped watching it in the end though as always depressed me and made me more homesick. Chunking Express and Fallen Angels are also on my regular viewing list, and part of the reason I think I may have moved out to Asia in the first place. Faye Wong kinda replaced Beatrice Dalle in my affections over the years but there's always a place in my heart for Betty.

It was I who originally said Betty Blue. It's an all time classic! I agree with you about the above scene. The bit where she's throwing everything out of the widow and the old man say to him "your place will look very Zen now" was a high point. Also the music, the simple piano duo. Wonderful! Yeah, great stuff, all through the film, its gotta be one of my all time favourites. You know you can find quite a lot of foreign film DVD copies up at Fortune Town. Just thought you might wanna know as I know they can be a pain to find in Thailand usually. I was a happy man the day I found a shop that had Betty Blue, La Femme Nikita and Man Bites Dog. mittheimp
The original Jaws movie. The Hustler Remains of the day The shower (chinese film) Not necessarily an easy film to watch but 'Salam Bombay!' by Mira Nair is probably the best film I have ever seen for many different reasons. Certainly not the best film, but cosmic girl starring Sora Aoi also gets a few repeat plays!!!

thaibebop
Wow, great topic. I could go on with this all day long. I watch movies from my collection more than I watch TV. I don't buy a movie unless I know I am going to watch over and over again. So, I won't list all the movies I own. However, the most recent is Corpse Bride, I love it! I will watch over and over. Before I forget, if any here have not seen Last Life In The Universe I suggest you do. I own that one as well and watched two times the first day I got it. Beautiful film. Ulysses G.
Full Metal Jacket - 1/2 half during boot camp - fking brilliant Most realistic portrayal of Marine Corps boot camp that I have seen. Right before I went through Paris Island, a Marine recruit purposely blew himself and a Drill Instructor up at the hand-grenade practice range. I used the same pit when I went through - you could see the scars on the walls - and - for the first and only time - my least favorite Drill Instructor was most polite, since he had to be in there with me!
