rubl Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Deputy PM Chalerm confirms assassination plot against Thaksin ahead of Myanmar trip this week, citing arms smuggling suspect's confession; Thaksin learns about plot. I thought those smugglers were caught, sentenced and jailed already. The Myanmar government was really efficient, weeks ago.
fstarbkk Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Nothing like a good assasination plot to rally the troops. The real trick is to become a bona-fide martyr, without actually dying. Once he figures that one out, we've got real problems!
Mitker Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 A pity Taksin's past deeds / statements didn't earn him the same unanimous love from the red crowds than the one he achieved among the expat community. It's an impressive score. I hope sometime - when feeling lonesome in his Dubai tower - he wanders across treads like this one in his search for blind worship
Popular Post Minnehaha Posted November 5, 2012 Popular Post Posted November 5, 2012 Great Work Chalerm How is your son doing....... the one who shot and killed someone in a night club.... oh... wait..... isnt he now an instructor, actually teaching shooting to the army..... Wow. Amazing Thailand Paradise. Excuse the ridiculous English. Thanks. Anyway......your family is so... Amazing. and so are you. WOW. dam_n straight. I want this guy on my side 5
rubl Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 "Panthongtae to Thaksin: If you think it's safe to go to Tachilek, I and Aim and Ink will be there too." Mind you dad, shopping in Paris might be better. We had so much fun in May 2010 and Auntie Yingluck on her recent trip got some more interesting addresses 1
Popular Post GentlemanJim Posted November 5, 2012 Popular Post Posted November 5, 2012 I agree with the poster who said, more likely only 200 people were pitching up to see their hero, a bit of a repeat of the USA. I imagine the majority of reds would like to punch Thaksin at the moment for failing to bestow the gift of a Ministerial Position on Jatuporn The Fat. Faced with such underwhelming support Thaksin has cancelled. I have no idea how long this pathetic charade can continue. Can a real, honest journalist get on to the case and bust this family wide open please. This is the kind of situation a research Journo in the UK or the States would dream about having on their own turf. 6
trainman34014 Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 If there had have been a real plot, we would not have known about it until it was either a success or a failure. Also IMO if there was a real attempt on his life this coward would run faster than a Jack Rabbit and he wouldn't come anywhere near Asia for a long, long time. Indeed; he would probably vanish to who knows where for a considerable amount of time afterwards.
Steele404 Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 shit.... the mission has been compromised. bail out bail out
pipchatel Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Why are you FARANGS(yes I am Farang) so anti TS? its never been a question of corrupt politicians, the question is WHO? is the best corrupt politician, to bring Thailand into the 21st century.? Answers on a 1000 baht note please.
khunken Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 So how many faux attempts have there been? I make it 3 - the one mentioned in post No 30, the 'bomb on an aircraft' that wasn't found & this one. When you look at those crying wolf - his son, Chalerm, Noppadon, etc - one has to apply the virtual lie detector test which screams false. It points to a pretty desperate bid to garner sympathy which will no doubt be forthcoming from his beneficiaries. 1
ratcatcher Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Everybody's talking about the "plot" to assassinate Thaksin. What about the tens of thousands of poor diehard red fans who planned on a border party with unlimited sticky rice and somtam? The buses have to be cancelled, hotel reservations cancelled, great disappointment all round. What a total disaster for the poor guy. If he's scared of appearing in front of a friendly audience in a northern border town, I imagine the dear man must have sleepless nights about his survival chances if he ever made it to Bangkok. However, he must be gratified that his offspring are concerned about his safety.
Popular Post samran Posted November 5, 2012 Popular Post Posted November 5, 2012 Better not let the attempt happen in a packed pub with the lights on. No body would see anything happen! 9
sirchai Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 "The source did not give the reasons for the cancellation of the visit" The source did not give enough reasons for the confirmation of the visit?--

Fozfromoz Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 That's it? Confirms a plot but no plotters? Can a plot thicken without plotters ? ~o:37; A plotless plot? Similar to a headless hammer without a handle! 1
asiawatcher Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Anyone know where I can make a donation to the assassins? Traveling to Dubai was not part of the original plan poor buggers. In fact this is nothing new here - couple of the Generals (not saying Police or Army) I play golf with, told me this two years ago - and they made the point then Shinawatra can't come back and knows it! He would be a 'dead man walking' in the vernacular. 1
personchester Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 It's the 5th of November isn't it. Yes, remember, remember the fifth of November they day when they caught noughty guy, the plotter was Guy Fawkes it was in 1605.
Longtooth Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Poor Thaksin, he looks so sad. Whyever would anyone want to do such a wicked thing? Still, it's his party and he'll cry if he wants to............. "You would cry too if it happened to you!" "Nobody knows where my supporters have gone. Credability left the same time." (You have to read it to the "tune".) 2
Popular Post GentlemanJim Posted November 5, 2012 Popular Post Posted November 5, 2012 I just find it funny that his offspring have to communicate with him via Facebook. You would think they would privately call him and say 'Dad, don't go', unless there was an ulterior motive for the publicity...........oh, Doh! stupid me! 8
TPI Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 dam_n! And I was all packed to "visit" him with my friends John Ruger and Michael Winchester!
Popular Post philw Posted November 5, 2012 Popular Post Posted November 5, 2012 You people are pretty amazing........... A constant stream of pathetic, school boy comments. Almost amusing to read but no thought to the consequences for Thailand should he be assassinated ( murdered ). It would almost certainly tip the country towards more strife and division and other than the folks on here, who in their right mind wants that ??? As for the nutter who wishes to donate to a "hit fund", well, that's just another fruit cake. 3
AleG Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 "So, I want to cancel the thing, what can I do so that the Red Idi... ajem, Shirts don't feel betrayed again and I gain more sympathy from them? Shakes 8 Ball Oh, assassination plot!, brilliant!"
ratcatcher Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 dam_n! And I was all packed to "visit" him with my friends John Ruger and Michael Winchester! Too late mate, Messrs Heckler & Koch & Uncle Glock already have rooms. Disappointed because of the cancellation though.
Lannatyne Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Looks like Somchai Fawkes has been found with a stash of gunpowder in the back of his tuk-tuk. Historically, there have been quite a few plots around at this time of year.
