Report: Single Tr In Kota Bharu

Featured Replies

I just got a TR in Kota Bharu.

But only coz I'm actually a tourist. I do have a stack of previous TRs, but none of them are back to back.

The lady at the office flipped through my passport and started listing out all the places I had got them from before [to the muted guffaws of her nearby colleagues]. She started on her 'get out' speech and during it, asked me how long I (have been) in Thailand. This, at least, gave me an oppotunity to explain that I actually was travelling around and that I had spent the last three weeks in Malaysia.

What eventually swung-it was the fact that I have a flight to Europe booked (in six-months' time). I had to show the ticket. I also had to show bank statements.

So, like previous reporters have said, back-to-back TRers will have no luck here, but travellers with a credible story don't need to be unduly fearful.

details: UK passport. TRs from London (triple), Vientiane, KL, Singapore. 2 Extensions, 1 exemption in the last 3 years. None of them back-to back.
