Shut The Box

Featured Replies

Hi,there is a popular Thai game i've often seen played in the bars called 'shut the box'.

It consists of numbers 1-9 of which you have to flip down with each roll of the dice.

Does anyone know the rules of this game -

i'e does one person play until they don't have the number and then hand it over to the other player ?

I have also heard that there is a winning formula( start with 9-8-7-6-1-2-3-4-5 )

I think you have to flip 5 last as this number turns up on the two dice most frequently,so flip that last.

Thanks for any info you can give me as it would be nice to win more often if possible ,

Why not publish, what you found smile.png

With the simple rules that are used here (one dice or the sum matches), your wining formula is wrong.

Correct is 9-8-7-1-2-3-4-5-6

Ordered by statistical likelihood from low to high in percent:

9: 11.11

8: 13.88

7: 16.66

1: 30.55

2: 33.33

3: 36.11

4: 38.88

5: 41.66

6: 44.44

She had to be a stunner for me to play this game....sow baht! sow baht! under the beer cloth biggrin.png

I always found it more fun opening the box to be honest.
