Triple Entry Tourist Visa - Help!

Featured Replies

Hi there had a few questions regarding the Multiple entry tourist visa, I have searched the site for some information with some questions left unanswered!

Been saving the last few years for a lifestyle change and hoping to do some travel around South East Asia before heading out to complete my IDC over in Koh Tao everything is very much in planning stage at the moment so sorry the dates/intinerry are abit vague but here's a few questions!

Was planning on getting a triple entry tourist visa from Hull before setting out to Thailand around the October the 1st 2013, how long does the turnout from Hull in the UK usually take if sent by post these days?

These dates are very loose but Plan on arriving into Thailand around the 1st of November spending time in the Northern areas till approx. the 1st of December before crossing into Laos, spending a Month in Laos before arriving in Northern Vietnam for approx. the 1st of January travelling down the southern Vietnam crossing into Cambodia approx. the 1st of February spending up to a month in Cambodia before crossing back into Thailand to use my 2nd Tourist visa from end of Feburuary/ beginning of March using as much as my 2nd visa’s 60 days before returning to getting my 3rd tourist visa stamped then returning to Koh Tao for another 2 months in May and June, then getting my 3rd tourist visa extended for a further 30 days till the end July. I would possibly change this around but it's just to give me an idea of times and location

I Plan on completing my IDC on Koh Tao where I was told they could give me visa assistance in getting a 12 month educational visa.

The question Is when I get my tourist visa/educational re-stamped when I have to report in every 60/90 days from Koh Tao do I have to report back to the Thai Embassies in Penang, Vientiane etc or can I just get my Visa stamped at one of the borders crossings when people do there 15 day visa runs such as Hat Yai in south?

If anyone could clear some this up for us would be great cheers smile.png

First question of many may be "IDC - Immigration Detention Centre" = jail. Know that you must be talking suba but in this forum not a good three letters. biggrin.png

Second is no multi entry tourist visa will allow entry more than six months beyond date of issue so you may want to make some time adjustments.

Planning in advance is great, but no one can predict what the rules will be in Oct 2013., Based on the couurent rules:

If your 3 entry visa is issued on 1 Oct, it will be valid for 6 months and will expire on 31 March 2013. All three entries must be made prior to 31 March 2013. You should get the visa just prior to your flight to get maximum time in-country. The 6 months starts the day it is issued, not thefirst day that you enter Thailand.

Based on this your plan will not work as you have your third entry in late April and your visa will have already expired. You will have to use your third and final entry before 31 March. On entry. you will get 60 days permisssion to stay and if on Koh Tao you can extend it for 30 days at immigration in Samui (1900 baht). That would take you to the end of June, not July.

If you enroll in an approved school on Koh Tao, you would have to take the paperwork package to a Thai Embassy/Consulate in a neighboring country and apply for an ED visa. If the couse is approved for 1 year, you will have to extend that visa at Samui Immigration every 90 days (1900 baht) with proff that you are still enriolled in the course and attending classes - another package from IDC. I assume that IDC is International Dive Center, not Immigration Detention Center.
