Ran Jae Leng: Real Or Fakes

Featured Replies

Anybody bought perfumes or cosmetics from ran jae leng @ don muang?

It's on vipawadi rangsit road, just beside the old cargo terminal. The prices for most of their stuffs r cheaper than the King Power.

I thought King Power is the only duty free outlet here?

how is it stuff seems to be cheaper @ jae leng? So the stuffs fake? But its well known and famous with lots of daras being regulars. The shopping center was even mentioned in the note udom dio 7 (the Thai stand up comedy).

Cant be Counterfeits stuffs right?

Duty (and VAT) free do not automatically get linked with low prices. To maximize profit, every duty free shop in every airport I have been in seems to charge whatever the market will bear.

As far as I have been told most of the things sold in Jae Lengs shop are brought into the Country by Airline staff who then sell it to Jae Leng - Airline staff are rarely targeted by Customs Officials at the Airport so they bring it in Duty Free.

King Power duty free is a simple tourist ripoff by one of the most famous Thai mafiosi.

Never would do business with them.

If you're looking to be smart about money just don't spend it on these idiotically overpriced and useless kinds of goods in the first place.

Or at least make sure you're donating an equivalent amount to deserving charities.

The goods there are not fake. Jae Leng is famous for Thai women, they love it for the non-scamming prices.

Other than cosmetics, they have a lot more food imports. Jae Leng shows how Thailand could be with a free market and without the monopole mafia.

Yes saving money compared to another place, on not-fake but genuinely useless products, rank consumerism at its worst.

Why promote such rubbish here, you think we stupid farang are going to show our teeraks hey honey have a look at this, a great place for you to spend a lot of money on skin whitener and makeup!

Personally I hate girls who make themselves up, the more they "teng tooa" the less attractive to me. Give me a fresh-faced girl with natural hair and skin in a t-shirt and flipflops any day over the hi-so <deleted> strutting around on their high heels with colored hair overtweezed eyebrows pointy-cornered eyeliner and big-eye contacts. Blech 8-(

I m not promoting. I have no concerns on your fetish, or type of girl stories.

I m looking for people who may have ideas if counterfeits are sold there.

I'm not promoting

My apologies if that's true.

It seems probably not, but if you can't actually tell then what's the difference?

I might be wrong, but what I understood is that King Power just got all the place and can do with it what they want, so 99 same King Power shops 10 food places and 1 other shop (OK I am cynical).

There are very bad stories about how it comes that King Power get all the place......

Let's examine all the facts carefully here...

What country are we in?

Ok,they're fakes!whistling.gif

That's a bit like cutting off your nose to spite your face. KP sells whisky and cigarettes cheaper than any other regional duty frees that I know

I've heard this before - that King Power is a rip off. But every time I look at their prices, and compare them to prices at duty free other places I fly - they always seem competitive. Certainly its cheaper than buying in Thailand. I think that its just grumpy old men having a whinge.

Genuine goods, very cheap. As people said, used to be very popular with airlines staff when Don Muang was in operation.

Beside cosmetics they sell also a lot of stuff, you can also buy imported food at very competitive price too (2nd or 3rd floor)

And when you're there, you can eat in one of the small restaurants on the other side of the road, not bad either.

Besides the graphic health warnings, the cigarettes prices r OK.
