Hi all,

I am currently in Phuket and have a tourist visa.

I am coming to Thailand several times/year so I think it's time to make sure I am organized in case of an accident.

I have a motorbike license up to 125cc and an international driving permit from my home country.

The validity of my international driving permit is up to Nov 08, 2013.

I plan to buy a new scooter and I need to know the following before i can:

1. Is my international driving permit the same as having a Thai driving license? is it effective until it's expiry date or only for 1 month? (i head it somewhere)

2. Is it possible to buy a new scooter and register it under my name even tough I only have a tourist visa?

3. Where do I do test and insurance for the new bike?
