November 12, 201213 yr Anyone know some good free software out there that looks at my windows system and check for driver updates and can install them ?
November 12, 201213 yr don't think you'll find one for free, most of them make you pay. best way to check for free is download one(free download) let it scan for drivers make a list of drivers, then go to the web site of the drivers and download them
November 13, 201213 yr These websites that offer free driver check-ups seem pretty sleazy, I would avoid them. And of course, before using any of the stuff recommended here you'll back up the system disk, right?
November 13, 201213 yr most brand named PC's have such a java app on their web sites i.e. Dell / HP etc .. - run it and it will tell you what you should have installed.

Most of them have paid-for crapware installed. I would go to the vendor's support website before using any of that java stuff (not to mention Java is still inherently very insecure). SlimDrivers is a good product, I liked it so much I bought the paid version, which does drivers, Windows and application updates (although the app updates aren't as good as Secunia PSI).
November 13, 201213 yr I have used this one on the free service you can pay for the full service but the free one does me update 2 drivers a day http://www.drivermax.com/ regards Scotsman
November 13, 201213 yr I wouldn't trust these free offers. Many of them come with Trojans and other BS. Please check your inbox.
