TS79
Hi, I hope the experts can help me out. I submitted my application and all the paperwork for the extension to stay based on marriage last month. I got a stamp in my passport saying application of stay is under consideration and that I must contact the office again in person on 14 Nov 2012. A couple of questions : Do I need to take any paperwork with me i addition to my passport? If so what is required? Do I need to fill in the 90-day report form for this visit? Does my wife need to go with me this time? Thanks in advance for your help. TS.

beano2274
You and your passport return on that day, they should stamp your passport with a new date a year from the expiry date of your present extension. Your wife is only required at the time of application.
lopburi3
And your first 90 day report should be due 90 days after your application, or about 60 days from now.

Mario2008
Seems this is your first extension of stay, don't forget the first 90 day report is due 90 days after applying for the extension of stay and every 90 days after that as long as you don't leave the country. How far ahead of the actual 90-day report date can the report be made? e.g can i go there a week before it's due if the report is going to fall over the xmas / new-year break? The 90-day report requires the TM47 form completing and any supporting docs with it?
Mario2008
You don't have to go inperson, you can report by mail (with the exception of a very, very few immirgaiton offices). By mail it is at least 15 days before the due date, in person from 15 days before till 7 days after the due date. Send by registered mail: Photocopy of passport pages with following pages - front page showing name / surname / Passport No., ect. - current visa - last entry stamp of immigration - last extension of visa Photocopy of departure card TM.6 click to view Example TM.6 card Previous notifications of staying over 90 days (if any) click to view Example document Completely filled in and signed notification form TM.47 click to view Example document (Don't forget to sign name.) Envelope with 10 Baht stamp affixed and return address of foreigner for the officer in charge to send back the lower part of form TM. 47 after having received the notification. This part must be kept for reference and for future notifications of staying over 90 days. The above mentioned documents must be sent by registered mail and the receipt of the registration kept by the foreigner. Send the mail before the renewal date 15 days to Immigration office Notice : - Your registered mail must be sent to the Immigration office at least 15 days before the due date of notification. - Your new form will be stamped as of the expiration date of your old receipt. - Please keep your receipt of your registered mail in case of lost mail. - Your document can not be processed if you have passed the 90 days limit. ( You must come to the nearest immigration office or Immigration Division 1 in person to pay fine 2,000 Baht) - Waiting for reply mail over 1 month, please contact Immigration Office with your registered mail receipt. TS79
Seems this is your first extension of stay, don't forget the first 90 day report is due 90 days after applying for the extension of stay and every 90 days after that as long as you don't leave the country. Hi guys, I've been to immigration today and everything went smooth, in and out in 15 minutes. Once I got the stamps in my passport from the Extensions counter they told me to go to the 90-day report counter for them to tell me when the next report is due. This desk told me to report back for 90-day report on 11th February 2013 which is 90 days from today and not from the application date of 26th Sep, is this correct? 90 days from Application date 26 Sep 12, would be 90 day report on 24 Dec 12 90 day from todays date 14 Nov 12, would be 90 day report on 11 Feb 13 (as told). I've attached a scan of my stamps: Application was made on 26 Sep 12 Was told to report back today 14 Nov 12 Extension is permitted until 15 Oct 13 Just worried if I turn up on 11 Feb and it should have been the earlier date. Thanks, TS. Edited November 14, 2012 by TS79
lopburi3
Do what they say - they may be making marriage the date the actual date stamp is made which does make it easier as retirement is from that date also (which does not have the under review period).
cooked
Exactly, once you get into the 90 days cycle of reporting you'll be fixed.
