My experience is 30 days before renewal date is the earliest you can apply. And you don't loose any days. Your new stamp will be good to March 2014. affidavit should be not more than one month old on date of application, although I have read different opinions on this point.

You are correct about 30 days prior to your expiration date for renewal, although I have got one once 60 days prior with special circumstances. Proof of income from your embassy must be dated any time in the year the extension is applied for. I don't know about bank statements, they may be 30 days as well.

Bank statements should not be older than one week, I was told. I usually get mine on the day before I go to the office. But the 30 days in advance are definitely correct.

The 30 day before expiry is the official Immigration line.

Although I have applied 5 and 6 weeks before without any comment.

The OP did not ask about bank statements, where did this come from?

If you are applying for an extension for retirement based on income you do not require a bank statement to present to Immigration (unless this has changed recently smile.png ?)

If the inference was to a bank statement to support the income affidavit (this support could also be anything from a superannuation company letter to a rent book) the age of the bank statement is entirely up to the discretion of the Embassy official witnessing the affidavit.

(Although officially he is only witnessing the signature he is still obligated to oversee the content :) )
