Interim ICT Minister Suchai Charoenratanakul (สุชัย เจริญรัตนกุล) has briefed the ministry's personnel about his policies, which are generally aimed at pushing for Thailand to become the ASEAN ICT hub as earlier planned.

The deputy prime minister and acting minister of information and communications technology said that there would be no change in policy regarding the drive to spur technological advancement in ICT in making the country the regional ICT hub in ASEAN. Meanwhile Mr. Suchai said he will finish the 2007 fiscal budget plan within February 17th.

As for the problem of mobile phone signal from Malaysia which protrude into Thailand be as much as 10 kilometers, ICT officials have already discussed the matter with Malaysian authorities. Malaysia has affirmed it will lower the intensity of the signal within February 14th.
