And I do not see how this incident makes him a fool. The ID card was kept by reception and that should have been a deterrent to the woman in question. The wife / g/f asking others to keep an eye on potentially errant partners is a regular occurrence here. I used to get it all the time and I was not errant, but my movements were always known about from reports coming in.
