Phuket Air 747 is used to charter Japan self defence personnel stationned in Irak. It flies charter runs between Kumamoto (Island of Kyushu South Japan) and Kuwait via Bangkok. The flights are contracted through Orient Thai which sub-contract to Phuket Air as they only have old Tristar and not enough capacity for this job

simon43
Flying into BKK from Phuket yesterday, I saw the Phuket Air 747 parked in the military area of the airport. So this also seems to support the news about flights to/from Iraq/Japan via BKK Simon

So this also seems to support the news about flights to/from Iraq/Japan via BKKSimon The flight actually does a Bangkok - Kuwait (4 hours turnover stop to bring new personnel and embark returning soldiers). Japan's self defence force do not want to risk landing their soldiers in Bagdad, also they are stationned in the south so it makes sense to use Kuwait.
