Retired Police Officer detained and Chinese man killed in North Pattaya road crash

PATTAYA:--A 64 year old Chinese Tourist was killed and his 62 year old wife was seriously injured after the pair were struck by a car driven by a retired Police Officer in the early hours of Monday.

The crash occurred on the Sukhumvit Road in Naklua opposite the Cholchan Resort and resulted in the death of Mr. Liv Gvo aged 64. His wife, Mrs. Xu Huandi aged 62 was seriously injured and rushed to Hospital. Both were known to be staying at the resort.

Khun Taweesak aged 54 is a retired Region 2 Police Officer and remained at the scene to speak with Police Investigators. They were told that he was driving along when the pair stepped out in front of his car, as they turned back to walk across the road. It is thought they had purchased items from a 24 hour convenience store and may have forgotten items which they intended to buy on their return to the shop.
