November 20, 201213 yr I just want to share my story here because this is the only way I can let go of these emotions(mixed) im feeling. I saw this ad on CL weeks ago that the Consulate of Madagascar is in need of a Filipino Secretary so I tried my luck to apply. Then they got back to me, inviting me for an interview. I was excited because I really wanted the Job. Two applicants were there, me and another lady, we waited for several hours waiting for the consul to conduct the interview. After 3 hours of waiting, finally he arrived and we greeted him. And the secretary introduced us to the Consul and ofcourse she introduced me using Ms. as the title and the Consul raised his eyebrows asking, " is that a Miss?". So, I said no sir im a Mr. And the Consul told his secretary to send me out. Just because im a transgender. This is the exact words he said. "The first one come into my office the second one I don't want" It was a tragic experience. Edited November 20, 201213 yr by matilda888
November 20, 201213 yr That is a very sad story. Hopefully in time in New generations things will change. Keep on trying. Sent from my GT-P6200L using Thaivisa Connect App
November 21, 201213 yr Sorry to hear that. I just looked around on the internet, and Madagascar doesn't seem to be exactly LGBT friendly (although it is not outlawed). I guess we have to change the world one country at a time.
November 21, 201213 yr Very sorry to hear about your situation. I work with a lady who is post-op. To my surprise, there were staff who refused to have her share an office with them. I might add that she's still there, but they aren't.
November 21, 201213 yr Don't let that closed-minded idiot get you down. You'll find something better. Best wishes.
