Rimmer Posted November 24, 2012 Share Posted November 24, 2012 Sex Shop in North Pattaya raided for a 3rd time by Police PATTAYA:--For the third time in its history a well-known and unusually high profile Sex Shop at a North Pattaya Shopping Center has been raided by Police for exactly the same reason it was raided on the previous two occasions. Officers from the Police Region 2 Child and Women Protection Unit and the Anti-Human Trafficking Division conducted a raid of the “Pattaya House of Condom” located on the second floor of the Central Center, otherwise known as Big C North Pattaya. Inside the shop was the owner, Khun Sopawan aged 22 who claims to also sell many of the items on the internet. The shop has been raided twice before and on both occasions substantial fines were paid. She then took the chance to re-open due to the good income generated by the shop with the majority of her customers being bar workers and young foreign couples. The shop, situated amid the bustling and busy mall, is directly adjacent to a children’s gaming area. Amazingly the shop, which openly sells battery operated toys ( not included) along with condoms, gels, creams and potions designed to enhance a private evening of mutually consenting adults’s enjoyment, was brazen enough to emblazen its windows with eye catching advertising slogans such as “ DON’T BE SILLY, GET THAT CONDOM WILLY”. Friday shoppers may have been forgiven for thinking that someone was throwing a big party as crates were packed outside the shop, ready for delivery, but that wasn’t the case. Instead it was officers of the Law, including representatives of the Women and Children Protection unit, who were removing the shop contents, as the owner was charged, for the third time in recent history, with “attempting to sell Lewd Products” and “retailing pharmaceutical products which are unlicenced in Thailand” The stock, much of which would bring the colour of rouge to a young lady’s face, was withdrawn from sale and taken to Pattaya Police station for closer inspection. You are quite right to ask and I have admonished our staff reporter for the omission of information... 14 were taken into custody, 10 answered to the name of Lolita, and 4 to "lola" ( which may actually be "Rora" as there is often a mispronounciation of Rs and Ls.) All were suspected to be of Chinese origin and none had any identity papers other than a warning label which informed all and any that, prior to being of any use, they would need a good rinse and lot of blowing to get them going. Following interviews with other local business women, we have been informed that they may not, in fact, be chinese workers but farang tourists in disguise . The chinese embassy has not been informed.
