bkkmick
Hi A friend has a website that uses a particular affiliate feed. When he checks rates on this affiliate their server checks his IP address and if he's been making too many enquiries they corrupt the results (I reckon that they think it's a competitor checking so they don't serve up consistent results). He lives in a condo with a shared wireless network so he cannot get a static IP address (the affiliate company can clear any static IP address and serve correct results to it). Options are to spoof the IP or use a proxy server or use a VPN. Anyone any experience with a similar situation that can offer some advice? He's not trying anything illegal. frankold
Use a cron job on the current host for his website to pull data from the affiliate as that will be using a static iP. He would also then be able to automate the entire process that it sounds as if he is doing manually now.
