November 29, 201213 yr Hi, I am german and went to Thailand this summer and was allowed to stay for 4 weeks with a Visa "on arrival". Eventually I stayed 6 weeks without extending my visa, so I had to pay an overstay fine at the airport after I went through the security check. Now I would like to travel a second time to Thailand this year for 3 weeks. I wonder if my last stay now got me "banned" from entering the country again or if there is any limitation for previous "overstayers" to enter the country again? I read online that it is possible to enter the country up to 3 times per year with a total stay of 90 days. But there is no information available if this also applies to people who previously have been overstaying without extending the visa. Can anybody help me here? I don't want any bad surprised at the airport when I enter the country again. Last time before I left they forced me to pay the overdue fee or I would get into jail until I pay. And they put a lot of thai stuff in my passport which I cannot identify... Thanks in advance for any help!
November 29, 201213 yr Previous overstay is unlikely to be an issue since you paid the fine at the airport on exit last time. There's not usually a 'lot' of stuff entered when you overstay, why not scan and post what you received, just to be sure? The 90 day limit is gone since they introduced the 15 day visa exemption at land crossings "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"
November 30, 201213 yr Overstay is no reason for being barred to enter the country and would not be decided at the airport.
November 30, 201213 yr It will not be a problem - only if overstay had not been paid and/or you were deported and black listed would there be issues. Paid overstay stamp will not be a problem under current policy. As said the limitation on time in Thailand on visa exempt entry was removed several years ago.
