How To Stay In Thailand For 3 Years?

Recommended Posts

Thailand, Land of Smiles, Smile At Me!

:o

Me: EU passport holder, age: 34, passport valid for many years, I have a little money to spend, and... needs a long holiday, yeah

Is there a 'multiple entry O' visa???

If I use a multiple entry O' visa, then...

1. If I read right, you only need a return ticket out of Thailand and your passport??? No need to show your bank account, right??

2. If needs to show a bank account, then how much must be?

3. Can it be done at the Thai Embassy in Penang?? Do I have to go back to Europe?

4. Every three months, you have to go out to renew the visa: for how long if I go to Malaysia or Singapore? Two/three days, OK???

5. After 12-15 months will they kick you out or can you do it all over again? How about for as long as 3 years consecutively??

These are my newbie questions!

I am currently located in Singapore.

Can the Thai consulate in Singapore also provide multiple-entry 'O' visas?

Why?! How about the other questions!?

The Royal Thai Embassy in Singapore is way too tough. You have no grounds whatsoever for getting a multiple entry non-immigrant visa for Thailand. Do you fancy the idea of getting married to a Thai girl ?

Getting married? :o no, thanks.

I want have a long holiday in Thailand for 3 years.

You need some 'reason' to get a multiple-entry 'O' visa, right?

What reasons would these be?

In here: http://www.thaivisa.com/422.0.html ...it doesn't mention any reasons?

I think I must have mistaken it for another visa.

Then...

How can I spend 3 years in Thailand?

What other alternatives are in for me?

I do not have lots of money for the investment visa.

I am too young for the retirement visa.

And I am not in for marriage...

As that link tells you, you won't get any multiples regionally. Nearest hope is Australia.

If I understand then a multiple entry 'O' visa can be for any kind of people, or is it only for investors, retirees, and someone married to a Thai citizen?

I can go to Australia, it's no problem.

And the other questions???

1. Do I need to show a bank account? If so, then how much should be in it?

2. Every three months, when I go out of Thailand to renew the visa, then is it okay if I come back after 2-3 days in Malaysia or Singapore?

3. Can it be done for 3 years consecutively?? Or will they kick me out after the first year?

The O visa is not generally available to ' others '. A student might get one or a researcher. You'd only have to show funds if you were applying for retirement You'd need to talk to the Consulate where you decide to apply about renewals each year. The 90 day exits are very straightforward.
