December 3, 201213 yr Does anyone know of anything i can put on a sand pile to stop the local cats shitting on it.
December 3, 201213 yr We used the the Rottweiler solution (actually the site mutt), very effective. In the absence of a dog you could try covering it with a tarp, weigh down the edges or the moggies will just go under. "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"
December 3, 201213 yr light weight netting, shovel some of the sand on top to keep it in place. I used to do similar to keep cats out of children's' sandpits. Edited December 3, 201213 yr by cooked
December 3, 201213 yr How big is it? What ?....the sand pile, the cat or the Rottie ? Was referring to the sand pile, though the rest should be proportional.
December 3, 201213 yr Author Thanks for all those solutions, but i was hoping for some kind of a spray or plant.
December 3, 201213 yr Thanks for all those solutions, but i was hoping for some kind of a spray or plant. Lenoardo De Caprio blended down until he can be spread through a spray gun. Do I get a prize?

December 4, 201213 yr Citronella works well or anything citrus orange, lemon, lime rind. Cayenne Pepper Coffee Grounds Lemon Grass Oil - perhaps the stalks would work The other thing you can do if you smoke or know a smoker is make a tea -let it sit a day with old butts and pour the liquid over the sand hill. Don't use moth balls they are toxic for animals.
December 4, 201213 yr The Rottweiler solution is ok in theory until you need to find something to stop said animal shitting on the sandpile
December 4, 201213 yr I have seen people using plastic drink bottles full of water left at the site. Not sure if, or how it would work though.
