Visas Not Issued At Certain Embassies

Featured Replies

Why is it that some Thai embassies around asia won't issue certain visas? It seems to me if I have the required paperwork any embassy should issue the visa. An example is the Thai embassy in Singapore not issuing the one year non immigrant "O" visa, but KL will. In most countries if a person meets the requirements, any embassy of that country will issue the visa, but this isn't the case in Thailand.

Many consulates and embassies around the world only issue certain visas to citizens or residents of the country where they are located. Also for those from some countries cannot get a visa of any kind without returning home unless that have residency in the country where applying.

It is just harder in the area to get some visas because of the sheer numbers of expats living here that they make up different rules to possibly make applicants go somewhere else for their visas.

Some embassies suspect that the visa applicant would be using the visa to enter Thailand for purposes other than those for which the visa is designed, eg to work illegally in Thailand.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place
