Thaksin Sues Pitak Siam Leader Boonlert, M P For Defamation

Featured Replies

How is it that a convicted fugitive, who is too cowardly to face the court to prove his 'alleged' innocence, can file defamation charges against ANYONE?

Thailand's legal system is completely and truely broken.

Count me in this group. Amazing Thailand..

On another note, maybe the court should ask him to appear in person to file these charges. hmmm... rolleyes.gif

Looking at it "realisticly"...I don't get your point!

If we take this thing away from Thaksin and his evil, evil, evil persona: if a country has a LAW (as stupid as I or you may personally find that law to be), it is a law for all citizens, no matter where they are, what they do or in what state of mind they are in.

So: a man, who was convicted and flees the country, is still counted under that law, no matter if we like it or not!

In the US if a person is in prison serving any kind of sentence they can sue at will if they can find a lawyer to represent them but a criminal on the run doesn't have that right.
