Uk Benefits

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm over here until May, but I have got a letter in the Uk requesting I attend a medical exam on Tuesday next, to continue to get incapacity benefit. I AM entitled to this, I had an accident at work and injured my neck some 14 years ago. I have had an MRI scan which proves my neck discs and bones are worn away, but I really don't want to go back this soon, ( I've been here almost three months), any ideas on what to do ? I haven't told them I'm here ( naughty). :o

Any advice welcomed.

Its been all over the news recently as this benefit is the one the Gopvt is really targetting now.

They want as many people off it as possible and will try to get them back into any job - not the one you were incapacitated out of.

Much of the assessment has been outsourced to private company's with their own Dr's - you can assume they will be told they must assess fairly but again there might be something said if they pass everyone as unfit.

In your situation you could try to put off the appointment and get another one but it would have to be a good excuse and hope they do not call you into the office to prove it.

I hope they weed out these lazy benifit cheats when this new clamp down comes into force..

I'm sick, sick to death of supporting p1ss takers who are living abroad and still claiming my taxes!!...

If your well enough to go sun'in it in thailand your well enough to find some work..

Pattaya is full of people os this benefit,i know of 4 that have recently been taken off this due to new clampdowns. The tax payers of the UK should not pay for people on extended holidays, get back to the Uk and face the music

You,ve broke the law already for one thing, give me your details and i,ll prsonally forward them to the DHSS and sort it out for you.

Do you seriously believe T.Visa would become a part of your deceipt.

By your own admittance your up to no good and taking advantage of all U.K. tax payers.

I am not a do gooder but know right and wrong.

You are wrong full stop.

There are 2 choices as far as i,m concerned.

1)

Go take your medical and then check what your obligations are regarding the rules on disability.

2)

Stay here and sign off the benefit.

I do not care if you think i am not typing what you want to hear.

Do you think we are completely stupid or what.

Welcome to the 21st century where your kind of situation is no longer considered fair play or tolerated in the U.K.

I bet your necks not a problem when your practicing horizontal excersises or cuny thingy me bob............................

Perhaps you should tell the specialist what your doing for rehabilitation and where your having to live to do it :D

I also reckon it,s no coincidence your posting this question as a new member, could it be to hide your true I.D.

Maybeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Im no do-gooder either..

But its parasites like graham that are f*cking it up for the rest of us who have to work more hours and pay inflated taxes just so he can sun himself on a foriegn beach...

I hope he gets busted, and i also hope they make him pay back all the tax he's been stealing from me.

I they do catch this filthy little man,he should be put onto a benefits black list for the rest of his scrounging life..

Admittedly, Graham is going to get in trouble with the Department of Work & Pensions for not declaring he was going overseas.

However, I do not see what is wrong with someone going abroad to stay while still claiming a benefit they are entitled to as a British Citizen (which is a socialist country the last time I checked).

Some of the comments already have been why should we be working & paying taxes for someone else to be sunning it etc.. but we are able to work! and he is not (he was paying taxes at the time of his accident!).

To live abroad in a foreign country for a long time, you need to have plenty of savings or employment to live off, something that a disabled person has difficulty in accomplishing.

Should Graham be chained to this country, and be denied the the same level of freedom as able bodied people have in the UK?

I currently work hard so that I can travel to Thailand for months at a time, however, if I was in an accident and became disabled, I would like to still be able to do this, and not be labelled offensive terms like parasite.

Graham, I will find out the legalities for you later today, as I will be seeing a friend who can give benefits legal advice.

Take care.

It sounds like he's ok to me...If he's that sick how does he endure the long haul flight from the uk to the other side of the world??

This isn't someone who is incapacitated.

This is someone who is taking the rest of us for mugs..

It may not bother some that graham is running amock in thailand while i'm stuck in blighty paying for his pleasure, but think again...How many grahams are in pattaya/thailand/south east asia doing exactly the same thing...

Graham isn't stealing from the goverment,he's stealing from you and me!!

The sooner this lazy theiving toad is caught, the better!!

Britain (a nation, not a country) is not and never has been 'Socialist'.

It is a nation which provides welfare and pays for that welfare by taxing its citizens.

Welfare payments are paid out where an applicant meets the rules governing the payment of welfare.

One of the rules is that if a welfare claimant goes overseas they notify the welfare office that they are no longer in the country so that the welfare office can pay the entitlement of welfare commensurate with the claimant’s personal circumstances (including the circumstance of being overseas).

I take a simplistic view, there are rules, follow them.

If an individual is ENTITLED UNDER THE WELFARE REGULATIONS to welfare payments then I am proud that Britain takes care of such people and provides them with welfare.

If an individual knowingly claims welfare to which due to their personal circumstances they are not entitled then I take the view they are scrounging scum - and I have no problem expressing that view.

Again, let’s keep it simple I pay my taxes, I could do a lot with the money, but I have no problem helping people who meet the requirements for obtaining welfare.

I only ask that they follow the rules.

I do not think that is much to ask when people are dipping their hand in my pay cheque.

And I'm pleased to say that at long last the government is beginning to listen to people like me - the people who pay in.

OK Marshbags you got me, it was fun seeing the replies though. I'm surprised how many people thought anyone would be so stupid as to post here. Watch out for the next one ! Sorry if I upset anyone, ..... I was only joking my dear ( Rod Stewart).

Graham R is dead, long live......?

Till next time

Apologies to all, I thought after my initial posting that it was an obvious scam, if suneeoki and guest house care to post their drinking haunts, I'll be glad to look them up whenever I'm in their area ( I'm actually retired here and travel around quite a lot despite my " condition" ) and stand them a round or two. After consideration, I won't be doing this again, some of the replies were extremely aggressive, again apologies to all, and don't take life too seriously, this is the LOS !!

You may or may not have been 'trolling'

But the one thing i do take 'seriously' is the theft of my hard earned taxes!!

Good luck to you if you've paid in and are now taking time to enjoy lifes little pleasures..

You could however,be spending your time in LOS either sh*gging or sipping cocktails on the beach rather than whinding the likes of me up,don't you think??

As for me,Im just counting whats left of my wages(after tax)and dreaming of the 2 months it will bring me in a few weeks time..

In my humble opinion and without sounding condescending.

Your O.P. suggests to me you where serious due to the factual side of things.

If you where testing T.Visa i think you are under estimating our characters and sense of right and wrong.

By doing this you insult our integrities.

From time to time we actually do get genuine topics asking dumb questions and expecting members to go down to their levels and say o.k. we,ll assist your wrong doing.

This is not about taking life to seriously in the land of smiles, it,s about fair play and people like lovethailandlongtime who work hard to enjoy there well earned holidays.

Incidently lots of us have paid our dues and are now getting our little pleasures, so please re think

your attitude and expect and understand aggresive reactions as you put it.

You also undermine the good work done by all genuine T.V. members and what T.Visa is respected for.

As for meeting you for a drink, for me personally i,d say " politely " forget it.
