Been told today that the border crossing at Prachuap will be opening up in May so visa runners/90 day stamp people will be able to do the runs there.

Anyone else heard anything about this?

I heard it was already open. This is what my girlfriend said a few weeks ago while she was reading one of the Thai language newspapers. I didn't pay much attention to it as I no longer need to do the visa runs.

If it's Singhon you mean, it's always been open for the market but for a stamp I doubt it, although Burma is opening up, be great for those at Hua Hin

Hi yes you're correct, it has always been open for commercial lorry crossings but will be opening up in May for border crossings also.

It has always been open for ONLY Thai and Burmese citizen. I have just called Immigration in Huahin (covering Dan Singhkorn) and they deny there is a plan to open it for foreigners. The Provincial Gov of PrachuapKhirikhan say it will open indeed... different story. Lets hope the last is right. Ranong is too far.

There is too much money made from goernment and Thai buisiness to stop visa runs to Ranong, a lot of Thai,s would lose out on the captiored falang that has to do a vise run .

I do hope that it will happen i would expect we would even pay more just so we could pop over so close, its madness that it has never been opened for visa for falang but why would they want to help us.
