Scuba Diving In Samui

Featured Replies

If I wanted to scuba dive from Samui and not any of the other Islands, what are my options ?

Who would anyone reccomend as a company to use here, or is it a waste of money ( I have no previous experience )

Is it better to wait untill I can go to, say Koh Tao for a few days ?

Thank u for any useful replies

There are schools that will certify you in Samui, but the visibility is really bad especially this time of the year. It would be better if you went to Koh Tao and enjoyed the experience of learning to dive! My opinion as an aged dive master!

hi there

dive courses are done here

with the actual diving bit done on Koh Tao

so if you go to koh tao to do your course you can save some money

To try and explain the difference.

Koh Samui is a tourist destination with lots of things to do. One of them is diving.

Koh Tao is a diving destination with not much else to do.

Diving at Koh Tao is cheaper - because it is nearer to all of the best sites.

Diving at Koh Samui is more expensive because it takes a lot of petrol (and time) to get to Koh Tao as mentioned by samuibruno.

Your dive course is more likely to be cheaper in Koh Tao - lots more competition. PM sent with a recommendation

Live and Let Dive, in Lamai. They were/are rated #1 by Trip Advisor. Nice people, run a good operation. Check them out.

...except Lamai puts a further 45 mins at the start/end of each day carrying divers to/from the boats on the N Coast.

The OP should also check the small print re insurance or see www.daneurope.org .
