Do you want to use it for a particular arcade game or do you want to use it with an PC/Xbox/PS3?

I don't have the answer to your question BTW, but I would be very interested in building a Viewlix style cabinet using a 40" LCD Samsung TV, a PS3, a MAME PC and 2 Madcatz TE fightsticks.

I have all the parts already except for the sound system, I would just need to make the custom cabinet which would be a good project I think.

Hi,

That's exactly what I'm looking to build. A Viewlix style cabinet but with only a Mame cabinet.

Hi,

There's plenty of info for Vewlix designs on the net. http://www.destructoid.com/arcade-crazy-build-your-own-vewlix-style-cabinet-129032.phtml

This guy has far more carpentry skills and tools than me

but even so I wouldn't want the finished cabinet to be all wood including the TV borders.

If it was me I would build something like this and install a 40" Samsung LCD TV into it. However arcade games are not 16:9 ratio they only run at 4:3 and look pretty bad stretch to 16:9, but PS3's obviously are 16:9 so if gives you cross compatibility and I'd be mostly using this for 1v1 fighting games.

But use 2x Fightsticks like this

And the only important info I can tell you about this setup is that Madcatz fightsticks are not usually not compatible with PCs. You need to use a particular USB PCI card for the sticks and commands to be installed properly in Windows. I'm now using a Hori SC5 fight stick and it works fine with MAME.

If you do find a decent cabinet supplier here in Thailand then please pass on the info as it's something I'd be interested in too.

I would love the Dreamcast one shown in the video!
