Thai Style Visa Policy In The U.k. ?

Featured Replies

I just saw this artlcle ... was led to it from a another general news site...

http://www.dailymail...visa-rules.html

I was just wondering if this is totally new for the U.K and does it seem a bit like the Thai immigration policy in certain VISA categories?

"...Newlywed graduate, 23, faces being told to quit the UK after falling foul of visa rules

  • American Daniel Whiteley graduated from St Andrews University in summer
  • The astrophysics graduate married management graduate Jenny in October
  • But 23-year-old is unhappy that he's likely to be barred from living in UK ... "

Let's face it, the only reason why this is even a story is because the young couple are white.

some advice for them,go down the council offices and say your homeless, then the job center and sign on for unemployment benefit, then claim housing benefits, free prescriptions and whatever else they want to give you, dont mention you want to work,as long as they give you enough for beer and fags you will be happy.and not forgetting start banging out the kids so you will get family allowance and be greeted with open arms.

From the Daily Mail article "UK citizens to have a minimum income of £18,600 before they can bring a spouse from outside the EU". You would think that being a highly educated couple they would keep themselves up to date with HMG requirements, rather than complaining via the media about alleged unfair treatment. Why should they be treated any differently to any other applicant?

It's entirely in accord with the government's policy that a woman can't bring her husband to Britain unless the woman has an income of £18,600 a year.

From the facts given in the article, I do wonder what they were planning to live on.

As to planning, well, they could have been planning to follow in the footsteps of others.

Regardless of heading this has nothing to do with Thailand.
