Visa On Arrival?

Featured Replies

Me (malaysian) and my girlfriend (chinese) are in our early 20s. We are/were due to go on a trip to Phuket within a week on the 12th. However we heard from a couple of sources that the Visa on Arrival rules have been changed since the turn of the year, Can somebody please advise on whether this is true, and what the implications may be on our trip? Thanks, it's very much appreciated.

Thanks for the prompt reply. Yeah I planned our trip according to that knowledge(dated 10th April 2012), but I just heard that changes were rung in since the start of 2013, and I can't find any notes on it. Was a little worried so I decided to check.

No changes that I know of.

You will get 30 days Visa Exempt and your Girlfriend will apply for a Visa on Arrival and get 15 days for a fee of 1,000 Baht.

Alright. Thanks a heap for the information. I'll just crosscheck it one last time with a travel agency or something when they open in a couple of hours. Thank you!

The only reported change is for visa exempt entry at a land crossing being limited to 3 times in succession (and has only been reported by one area of the country so far). That would not effect your stay, or indeed most peoples.
