Dual Passport (Nepal/jamaica)

Featured Replies

I am asking for my friend who have dual citizens, Nepal and Jamaica.

She wants to go back to Nepal and going to stay in Thailand for a month and be back to Jamaica.

Which passport does she apply for Thai Visa? or possible to request visa on both PP????????

She can apply for a visa on either passport. If she applies in Nepal, it might be better to apply on the Nepalese passport.

Edit: Deleted original post.

Which passport she uses will depend upon where she is located at this time.

If in Jamaica she would have to application by mail since there is no embassy or consulate there.

Thai embassy in US website: http://www.thaiembdc.org/wp/

If she is traveling to Nepal before coming to Thailand she could apply for visa while she there.

She should use her Nepal passport because she will not require a visa and get a 90 day entry to Thailand. Info here: http://www.mfa.go.th...Agreements.html

The 90 days are for diplomatic passport holders only.

Was correcting post when you posted.

Yes it was for Diplomatic, not for ordinary PP. There is no visa exemption for Nepaal PP.

If she apply thai visa on her Nepal PP, when she goes back to Jamaica via US, US visa on her Jamaica PP, could Thai Immigration make her problem because of no US visa on her Nepal PP?

She would only need to show her Jamaica passport to the airline at check in for the flight to prove she can enter the US.

Immigration will not look for a visa to US on departure using her Nepal passport.

Thank you for your information.

Ok..so she needs to apply just multiple entry visa to her Nepal PP...right!

If in case need to show her 2 PP at the Thai Immigration, could Immigration officer give any problem because od restriction of dual citizen for Nepal?

She will get a single entry tourist visa for Thailand that will give her a 60 day entry that can be extended for 30 days.

When she enters Thailand she will only show her Nepal passport with the visa in it.

When she departs Thailand she would show both passports to the Airline to show legal entry into Thailand and a visa for the US.

She would only show her Nepal passport to Thai immigration. They will only look at her Thai entry and permit to stay stamps. They do not care if she has a visa for her trip to the US or if she can have dual nationality or not. Only the airline cares that you can legally enter the country you are flying to.
