Double Entry Visa Questions

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am applying for a double entry visa in Bali because I want to stay in BKK for as long as possible but I could use some help confirming and clarifying.

So, if I get the double entry visa, I can enter for 60 days and extend for 30 more, at which point I need to leave Thailand and come back in to begin my second visa. Correct? My other questions are as follows:

1. Must I leave via air or can I go via land to Cambodia?

2. If I must leave via air, should I book the onward ticket for departure within the first 60 days OR is it OK to book it out 90 days?

Thank you!

You can go to Cambodia and re-enter by land. The second entry must by made before the " must enter by" date on the visa, as that is the date that the visa expires.

OK. But the embassy want to see proof of an onward ticket. Any suggestions on how to get around this?

If they want proof of onward travel. you'll have to buy a cheap ticket exiting Thailand. A cheap option is Hat Yai to KL but it won't be refundable.

Check airasia.com for cheap flights. You could use ticket for your first border run.

So, it doesn't really matter where I go for the first visa run as all I really need is a stamp out/in, correct?

The second time I go, I plan to apply for another tourist visa, therefore I will have to go to PP, Laos or Penang, correct?

For a double entry you will want to go to Laos.

OK. So, I can go wherever I want, so long is it is outside of Thailand, for the first time out and I should go to Laos to apply for the second double entry tourist visa. Got it.

Thank you all for your help!
