Which magazine on Samui has the most exposure for advertising a bar or restaurant?

Samui Guide used to be popular a few years ago but it lost most of it's advertisers when the economy went sour I don't know if it is still published.

Fah Thai has the exposure but very expensive.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

How many readers a month do you want to reach?

'Samui Holiday Magazine' published by Siam Map Co Ltd would be a good choice, as would a banner add on Thai Visa.

Do you have the Bar/Restaurant allready ? or is it a new venture ?

if it's an existing business, scrutinise the books and see where their advertising budget went, and see if it was value for money.

If it's a new venture, consider it very hard ! as over the last 12 months, apart from the well established business's everyone of them have had a hard time.

The area that a business is based also predicts various forms of promotion.

A former Bar owner from Bangrak recently set up a small business making Kebabs on the side car to his motorbike, he's earning near 3 times what his Bar

used to and doing half as many hours.

A little more background info can assist members to assist you.

Good luck

An important point: it's not how much a month it costs, it's how many copies are distributed.

Both Samui Holiday Magazine and Samui Wining & Dining have a distribution of 20,000 copies each to hotels, resorts, spas and restaurants, and are on stands on the road and also in the airport here and in BKK. And they have two full-time drivers with trucks who sole job is to drive around and check and refill these places.

Other mags cost less per month but have only a few thousand copies printed.

And, of course, thaivisa reaches a very wide audience too.

This is a restaurant that has been well established for many years with mainly a western menu and has a loyal local customer base. The owner needs to attract more tourists, they used to advertise in Samui Guide & Samui Explorer.

If it is a restaurant of a certain standard, then the "Samui Dining Guide" (red red booklet) could be helpfull.....

Do they do Billboards in the area of you restaurant location? ... If so - I know a good Billboard broker...
