never mind the food, what about the basic hygiene? local street food vendors park their carts in a grotty soi near my place. not only is the soi dirty and full of rubbish, but i have seen, cats, dogs, rats, insects crawling all over the carts. i have never, ever, seen a vendor cleaning their cart either when knocking off work or preparing to start cooking food. i wouldn't go anywhere near food prepared and cooked in these conditions. -

Is this viable for 6 months stay in Thailand
There, with your blinders on, spitting smear-names at others. People like you are why govt agencies are corrupt - why they are not held to account in our countries of origin - because you make excuses for them, and worship their "authority," instead of speaking the truth. Every democide in history has people with such attitudes at the root of it - cheering them on - until it's their turn. -

At some of the local night markets I see grilled fish which is quite healthy, and barbecued chicken which is probably fairly healthy. I think one just needs to be particular, obviously the stuff fried in toxic old oil is not going to do your liver much good. There's a lot of great fresh fruit on the streets, fresh juices and things of that nature. -

Urine infection
I just asked a work colleague tell me he was sick for the last 4 days with a urine infection I said how did you know you had it ,he said he had burning pain when peeing and smelly urine and pains in the kidneys etc. I went home this morning and think I have a urine infection too I may have caught it off him as he was standing close to me ,like a close talker right in my face ! I have tried to make an appointment with the GP who seems to be booked out Any idea what the treatment is and can it cause bladder cancer? -

Is it safe to wear a Rolex around Bangkok??
3 months since the chap asked his question and his visit. Since then we do not know the outcome. Did he wear his Rolex? If he did was it safe? was he beset by kathoeys and horrifically fondled resulting in the loss of said Rolex? Was it lost in some seedy beer par as he drank too many Leo's? So many questions, so many unresolved concerns. Please, sir let us know the outcome of your adventure in the magical big city of Krung Thep. -

That's better than VE, but, if entering at Bangkok airports with an extensive stay-history (which I would never do), I would use their agent-service, to be assured of no issues: -

Well just to play devil's advocate you could certainly make a case that American technology and science is superb, and American inventors have brought an awful lot to the table in the last 100 years. I'm not saying that there aren't an incredible number of issues within the race, but it's not like we're Russia, it's not like we've brought absolutely nothing to the table recently. -

I am disgusted with what they are doing. The rules are published. They don't care. Clearly, IOs don't want to bother with a "complicated" application, but this is brazen. I don't know if the agent-system up there is functional any more. They may have been prohibited from having an agent-system, due to being VERY abusive with it in the past. They used to make people "camp out" all night in the parking-lot to queue for retirement-extensions sans-agent - but skip the queue if you paid. It was making bad-press, so was shut-down. Maybe this sort of thing is their retribution - or maybe there is an agent-fix. I am not aware of agents who will do the mo-xfer method, much less a combo-method - though such may exist. A well established agent in Patts is reported not to do the xfer-method, even if you have the transfer-proof. One would need to let them fake 800K in the bank, or DIY. -
