Crime Crackdown Press Conference at Pattaya Police Station

PATTAYA:--A further press conference announcing the current progress of the Pattaya Crime Crackdown which is taking place until 7th February, took place at Pattaya Police Station on Tuesday Morning.

Also in attendance were Police from other stations in Chonburi Province who used the opportunity to announce crimes they had solved from within their areas of responsibility.

Three major cases from Pattaya were presented to the gathered media.

Khun Somshai aged 31 and Khun Chatchai aged 25 were arrested in Pechaboon Province on the strength of an arrest warrant which states the pair are wanted in connection with the murder of a Thai woman, Khun Onanong in Chonburi City.

So the crackdown ends on the 7th Feb,

then it's back to business for the rest of the criminals.

The problem with this crackdown, and the few criminals that they have caught, is that most tourist dont really care about these crimes. Tourist are more concerned about violent crimes, muggings, purse snatching, armed robbery. Sure narcotics lead to other crimes, so good to get them off the street, but what happens after the 7th?? Do all the big shots come back to Pattaya, for another year of fun?
