Flutes?

Featured Replies

Time for my own silly question ... does anyone know where to buy a flute in Bangkok? Musical instruments, in general, aside from keyboards/guitars?

I've been looking for longer than I care to admit, so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I assume that you are interested in purchasing Thai style flutes and other instruments.

Get off the BTS at the Chidlom station and walk towards World Trade Center (now called Central World Plaza I think). Walk thru Gaysorn Plaza exit to street level.

Next to Gaysorn Plaza (2 or 3 exits from Gaysorn) and opposite the World Trade Center, there is a large old-looking store called "Naraiphand". There are 3 levels: basement , 1st floor and 2nd floor. They sell lots of stuff including furniture, art, tons of souvenier junk and also musical instruments. Think the musical instruments are on second level. I felt the prices you see there are very high (ie 200%)compared to what you might see out of Bangkok (like Chiang Mai) or out of a tourist area.

By the way, there is a very good Thai restaurant called "Krua Aroi" also on the 2nd floor of Naraiphand. Good food and prices are reasonable. Good luck.
