Just piched up in Chiang Mai this morning only to find the place I normally stay all booked up (Smith Residence, Chiang Mai Gate area). I've never had a problem just showing up before so I never booked in advance, I never really know when I'm getting here anyway so its hard to make an advanced reservation.

Anyway, what I need now is somewhere similar in the CM Gate, Loi Kroh area. Must be a nice modern clean room with decent wifi, safe, good television. Pool would be nice but by no means essential. 10k a month price bracket. I've been for a good wander this afternoon but not found anything comparable to Smith Res. I'm currently holed up a guest house but could really do with getting somewhere proper in the morning.

Any suggestions very much appreciated, thanks in advance

Life in Town looks like the place. Bit further than I wanted to go really but fits the bill on all counts, going to have a look in the morning.

Any more sugestions welcome though

I'd be interested to know how much the rooms at @ Home go for. It's completely renovated and furnished, I had a look inside a while ago. They didn't decide on pricing then. (Come to think of it, I don't even know if their focus is on monthly rentals, or that they are aiming daily.)

They were fully booked when I called in this morning.

it is the high season,you just have to make a few more calls.plenty of cheap places still around
