PATTAYA:--A 26 year old Thai man was arrested at a South Pattaya Police Checkpoint early on Friday Morning accused of riding a stolen motorbike.

The checkpoint was located in front of the Chaimongkol Temple on the South Pattaya Road where officers spotted the motorbike which appeared to have no license plate. Attempts were made to stop the bike and it’s driver but the man sped up and attempted to ride through the checkpoint. Khun Grit was stopped nearby and was taken to Pattaya Police Station where checks indicated the bike he was driving, a Yamaha Neuvo, had been stolen from the Tepprasit Road Market last weekend.

The bikes rightful owner, Khun Giratigan aged 28 was called-in to identify the bike and take back possession of the vehicle.

he decided to seize the opportunity to steal the bike as he had no forms of transport since his release from prison.

Well, back to the clink. Maybe he can get some more tattoos and ponder about his choice of lifestyle.

Reminds me of that motorbike scene in The Great Escape. Young Grit even looks a bit like Steve Mcqueen...except with a better tan...

In the photo, Khun Giratigan appears to be pointing at the culprit, not the bike. Is that how police conduct ID parades in Thailand? Escort the suspect out in handcuffs, stand him next to the stolen property, and ask the victim to identify the offender....??....??
