Hi all, its been a while since ive been back to Thailand, so long i have never stepped foot in this airport only the old one. I am seeking answers from anyone who has recently used the airport taxis to get to pattaya and also know the airport fairly well.

Firstly is it correct the taxis depart from level 1 and what is the current fixed fare to get to pattaya, also is the toll fare and airport fare (think its 50 baht) included in the price of the over all fare or are these added on top?. Also am i correct thinking the airport fare for the driver is 50b and how much are the toll fares roughly?.

Secondly are there many reliable (actually stocked well with money) ATM's located in the airport and what banks do they belong too, if anybody knows the maximum amount that can be drawn that would be helpful too.

Im only asking about ATM's because i intend to draw most if not all the money on my pre paid cards on arrival to avoid using the small standalone machines dotted around pattaya. Last time i visited i had a issue with a few machines which ate my card and dispensed no money yet still debited my account, all was resolved in the end but it was a hassle to sort out and also left me with no money for days. I was later told it was either due to the ATM not having enough funds to pay me and shutting down or the was a jam within the machine at which point it shuts down to stop people using it. Either way it still debited my account and received no money at the time.

All answers are greatly appreciated, thanks!.

You would run around Pattaya with all your holiday cash...in actuall cash w00t.gif

There are tons of ATM's in Pattaya now, I would suggest only using the ones that are attached to bank buildings, have a few back up cards and maybe some good old travelers cheques too.

There are banks in Pattaya you know.

Yes i know there are banks in pattaya, over the counter charges quite a large fee on canxton cards which i would rather avoid... its actually cheaper to use the ATM and take the 150b hit.

The money on my pre paid card is not all my holiday cash... its just some of it. Using a machine attached to the bank still doesn't help if it eats your card or doesn't pay out, they just say sorry they cant do nothing and you should contact your card issuer... Also in the past i have visited with my father who had no issues with carrying/storing around £1000 at time in pattaya, just split it and hide it in various spots. £250 in the room lock box, £250 in the hotel safe, £250 in socks in the case.etc. Just change it as needed.

Alway use the money on cards first then use the real money hidden where ever in the world, that way in the unlikely event something goes wrong with the card you have cash at hand....

Been thailand and pattaya before i am half thai and have relatives there, just not been back since 2005 hence why im looking for looking for official airport taxi fares advice and whom the atm operators/max withdrawal are in the airport.
